Basketball Recap: Wesleyan Christian Academy Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

If Ravenscroft wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wesleyan Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Cooper Cox. The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over the Ravenscroft Ravens on Friday thanks in part to Cox, who went 11-for-20 to rack up 28 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Blythe Cunningham, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 14 points and five boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Ravenscroft lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emily Virag, who went 5-for-10 en route to 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Ravenscroft's points, marking the third time in a row Virag has scored more than a third of the team's points. Ellie Cronin was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Wesleyan Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Ravenscroft, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-15.

Looking ahead, Wesleyan Christian Academy will face off against Providence Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Providence Day sitting on nine straight wins and Wesleyan Christian Academy on seven. Ravenscroft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
