Basketball Recap: Covenant School of Jacksonville's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Covenant School of Jacksonville unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harvest Community Warriors.

Despite the defeat, Covenant School of Jacksonville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Garang Garang almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garang has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Breen, who posted eight points and five boards.

Leading Harvest Community to victory were Adam Lawson and Ryan Pritchard. Lawson dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards, while Pritchard dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lawson has scored at least a third of Harvest Community's points. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Wright, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Covenant School of Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Harvest Community, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Covenant School of Jacksonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-23 victory against Old Plank Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Harvest Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-57 defeat against Duval Charter on the 7th.
