Basketball Recap: Verrado Vipers vs. Lake Havasu Knights
Verrado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 48-33 to the Lake Havasu Knights. If the Vipers were looking for revenge after losing 45-23 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Lake Havasu's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vivian Velazquez, who posted seven points along with ten steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Velazquez a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Nieblas, who earned nine points along with eight boards and five steals.
Verrado's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lake Havasu, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
