Hialeah Gardens never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sports Leadership & Management on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sports Leadership & Management with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Gladiators' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ryan Valdes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Bryan Pol was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Castillo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory snapped Hialeah Gardens' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Sports Leadership & Management, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Gardens will be playing in front of their home fans against Varela at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Varela's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Hialeah Gardens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
