Despite the loss, Northwest Guilford had strong showings from Easton Dean, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Rakem Hammock, who picked up 86 receiving yards. Hammock got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 90 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'Darius Mccombs, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Those 136 rushing yards gave Mccombs a new career-high.
The defeat snapped Northwest Guilford's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-3 record. As for Mooresville, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Northwest Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mooresville, they will take on East Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Forsyth is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Mooresville a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
