Irwin County came tearing into Wednesday's contest with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Lyla Moore's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sailor Mixon was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Brown, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI.

Irwin County's win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Fitzgerald, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 20 of their last 21 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-26 record this season.
