Basketball Recap: Spring Creek's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Spring Creek won the last time they faced Dayton, and Jade Buzzetti did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spring Creek Spartans simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Dayton Dust Devils 62-22 thanks in part to Buzzetti, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points along with seven steals and six boards. Those six boards gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiwan Williams, who posted seven points in addition to eight steals and six boards. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Dayton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lisinita Tulimafua-Curran, who put up five points, and Madison Cleland, who had nine points.

Spring Creek moved to 7-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Dayton, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Spring Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-34 loss against Fernley on the 11th. As for Dayton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-14 defeat against Elko on the 11th.
