Basketball Preview: Dallas Thunder vs. Tyler HEAT
Dallas Thunder has been on the road for 15 straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on Tyler HEAT at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dallas Thunder has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 796 points over their last 12 games.
Dallas Thunder pushed their score all the way to 62 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 79-62 to Lincoln HomeSchool. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), Dallas Thunder still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Tyler HEAT stacked a 17th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Texas Homeschool Sports 73-42 at home. Winning may never get old, but Tyler HEAT sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
It was another big night for Elijah Grimes, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jackson Tomlin, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and two steals.
Dallas Thunder has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Tyler HEAT, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season.
Dallas Thunder came up short against the in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 53-49. Thankfully for Dallas Thunder, Cale Starr (who scored 17 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
