Basketball Recap: Tyler Takes a Loss

If Tyler was feeling good fresh off their 70-38 takedown of Whitehouse last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tyler Lions fell just short of the Nacogdoches Dragons by a score of 53-51 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Dragons are ranked 695th).

Tyler's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Nacogdoches, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Tyler will finish 2024 at home by hosting Brownsboro at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Nacogdoches, they will take on Chapel Hill in a tournament on Friday. Chapel Hill will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Nacogdoches surely won't give up without a fight.
