Baseball Game Preview: Gulf Coast H HEAT vs. Evangelical Christian Sentinels

The Gulf Coast H HEAT will face off against the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Gulf Coast H fell victim to Sarasota Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Blazers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Gulf Coast H saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Westin Lacey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Lacey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Island Coast on Thursday and fell 5-4.

Evangelical Christian dropped their record down to 11-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Gulf Coast H, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gulf Coast H has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Gulf Coast H suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Evangelical Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. Can the HEAT avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
