Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

While Trinity Christian Academy put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Edgewater. Trinity Christian Academy put the hurt on Edgewater with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering Trinity Christian Academy has won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Keyrstin Beckett and Charleigh Morasse were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Beckett pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morasse pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Beckett a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Beckett scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Morasse went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, Beckett posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Manzano and Kay'La Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Manzano went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Jones has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataly Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Trinity Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Trinity Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Edgewater, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Trinity Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Seabreeze at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Seabreeze will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Trinity Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edgewater, they will head out to challenge Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
