Volleyball Game Preview: Cajon Cowboys vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats

After both having extra time off, the Cajon Cowboys and the Redlands East Valley Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Cajon is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 23, 2024 last Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Beaumont. The shutout was out of character for the Cowboys seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Redlands, falling 3-0.

While Redlands East Valley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Cajon will have to keep a close watch on Vic Liao and Isaias Garcia, a pair of players who had a big impact on Redlands East Valley's prior game. Liao had 19 digs, while Garcia had eight digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Cajon and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Redlands East Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Cajon was able to grind out a solid victory over Redlands East Valley when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
