Soccer Recap: Providence Day Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Providence Day was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cannon Cougars by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Providence Day couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Shradha Kathirvel, who's now up to three this season.

Providence Day moved to 13-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Cannon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Day will square off against Charlotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Day will be up against Charlotte Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.57 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cannon, they will challenge Covenant Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Day's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
