Football Game Preview: Divine Child Falcons vs. Harper Woods Pioneers

Divine Child is 0-3 against Harper Woods since August of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Falcons will take on the Pioneers at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Divine Child is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lamphere 41-7. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Divine Child found their leader in sophomore Drew Sheridan, who threw for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harper Woods). They breezed past Chandler Park Academy to the tune of 47-6 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pioneers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 137th).

Divine Child's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Harper Woods, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.

Divine Child ended up a good deal behind Harper Woods in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, losing 40-21. Thankfully for the Falcons, Colby Bailey (who rushed for 177 yards and three scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
