Softball Recap: Alonso Comes Up Short

Alonso fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wharton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-5. The Ravens were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Alonso saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Alonso has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Wharton, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Alonso will challenge Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wharton, they will square off against Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wharton is facing Wesley Chapel at the right time seeing as Wesley Chapel is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
