James Logan has gone 8-2 against Newark Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. James Logan will face off against Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. James Logan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
While James Logan's win against Galena wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. James Logan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Galena on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Colts, who have now won three games in a row.
James Logan let Gabriella Garcia and Nevaeh Hall-Flores run wild. Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Hall-Flores scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Hall-Flores has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Newark Memorial entered their tilt with Mission San Jose on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Addyson Waterhouse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Andrea Tall was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Ariana Romo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Newark Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mission San Jose only posted a batting average of .150.
James Logan's record is now 3-1. As for Newark Memorial, their record now sits at 6-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. James Logan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. However, it's not like Newark Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
