Clinton Prairie won the last time they faced Carroll and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gophers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gophers.
Sadie Weliver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kadie Fearnow, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Coleman, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Clinton Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Carroll, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.
