Volleyball Game Preview: Fairport Red Raiders vs. McQuaid Jesuit Knights

The Fairport Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the McQuaid Jesuit Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fairport had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Webster Schroeder on Friday. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, McQuaid Jesuit faced St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Marauders 3-2.

McQuaid Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Fairport, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Fairport took their win against McQuaid Jesuit when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
