Columbus got themselves on the board against St. Brendan on Friday, but St. Brendan never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Sabres 2-0. For the Explorers, this counts as revenge for the 8-5 victory the Sabres walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Mathew Rios tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Columbus has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. St. Brendan's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.

Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Brendan, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m.
