Basketball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Penobscot Valley last Friday, Woodland came back down to earth. The Woodland Dragons took an 81-66 bruising from the Washington Academy Raiders on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

Woodland dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Washington Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7.

Woodland is taking a road trip to take on Mattanawcook at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Academy has already played their next matchup (against Old Town), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
