Basketball Recap: Essex Comes Up Short

Essex suffered their biggest defeat since February 8, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 69-49 to the Cumberland Dukes. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Essex's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Cumberland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Essex will venture away from home to square off against Westmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cumberland, they are taking a road trip to face off against Prince Edward County at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cumberland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
