Softball Recap: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Starr's Mill Panthers
Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-5 to the Starr's Mill Panthers.
Auriyanna Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Meredith Elder, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Even though they lost, Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That's the best batting average they've earned all season.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Starr's Mill, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manchester will host Hardaway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair are at an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2015. As for Starr's Mill, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against McIntosh at 7:00 p.m.
