Baseball Recap: Lipan Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Lipan hadn't done well against Santo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Indians never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Indians have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chris Collins made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Evan Lott was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Harrison, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Lipan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Lipan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Santo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11-1.

Lipan has already played their next contest (against Hico), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Santo, they will square off against Bluff Dale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
