Basketball Recap: Woodbridge Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Woodbridge won the last time they faced University and things went their way on Friday too. The Woodbridge Warriors came out on top against the University Trojans by a score of 52-43.

Defeat or not, University got some senior leadership from Shervin Moarrefian and Isaac Evans. Moarrefian went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points, while Evans posted 19 points and eight boards. That was a full 44.2% of University's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Haun, who had two points.

Woodbridge's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodbridge will take on Sage Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sage Hill will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Woodbridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for University, they will square off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
