The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Golden Eagles, who until this match were averaging 10.92 points allowed.

Loss or not, Mountain Vista got some senior leadership from Austyn Modrzewski and Jack Blais. Modrzewski threw for 303 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.5% of his passes, while Blais gained 202 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Modrzewski a new career-high in rushing yards (63). Elam Parises did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 29 receiving yards.

Mountain Vista's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-1. As for Fairview, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Mountain Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairview, they will challenge Legend at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Legend has won five straight at home, while Fairview won eight straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
