Recap: Cocke County Fighting Cocks vs. Carter Green Hornets
The Cocke County Fighting Cocks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 74-65 to Carter. Even though they lost, Cocke County's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Cocke County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Fine, who scored 21 points. Kyler Hayes was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 6 rebounds.
Cocke County now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Carter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cocke County will take on Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carter, they will head out on the road to face off against South-Doyle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South-Doyle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carter in Tennessee (South-Doyle is ranked 62nd, while Carter is ranked 268th).
