Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rustburg). They blew past the Amherst County Lancers 15-5 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Red Devils have posted against the Lancers since May 10, 2021.

The victory made it two in a row for Rustburg and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Amherst County, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rustburg and Amherst County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Red Devils see the field they'll take on Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Amherst County, their break will end when they face Buckingham at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
