Soccer Game Preview: Newington vs. Plainville + Official Tickets

Newington hasn't had much luck against Plainville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Nor'easters will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Newington's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Southington by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Newington were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Plainville entered their tilt with Southington on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Blue Knights. Given Plainville's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Southington are ranked 106th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newington's record is now 5-3-4. As for Plainville, their record now sits at 10-2-2.

Newington came up short against Plainville when the teams last played back in October of 2021, falling 4-2. Can the Nor'easters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
