Baseball Recap: Gila Bend Takes a Loss

Gila Bend easily dispatched Wickenburg Christian Academy last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Gila Monsters fell just short of the Trinity Christian Warriors by a score of 11-9 on Monday. The Gila Monsters were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jesus Gomez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Easton Fernandez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Gila Bend's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Gila Bend wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-6 win against Heritage Academy on the 10th. As for Trinity Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Wickenburg Christian Academy on the 10th.
