Football Recap: Giles County Bobcats vs. Watertown Purple Tigers        
        
		
             Giles County's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They blew past the Watertown Purple Tigers 42-21. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bobcats needed considering they were shutout in their previous   game.
  Caleb Oates continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 244 yards and four touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 103  rushing yards dating back to last season.  Kareem Bryant was another key player, gaining 202 total yards and two touchdowns.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Giles County was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 282  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Watertown only rushed for 20.
 Despite the  defeat, Watertown saw an underclassman step up:  Blake Waldorf threw for 426 yards and two touchdowns. Those 426  passing yards set a new season-high mark for  Waldorf. 111 of those passing yards were hauled in by Garrett Davis, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 The  victory  got Giles County back to even at 3-3. As for Watertown, their loss was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Coincidentally,  both  will both be playing Grundy County the next time they take the field. Giles County will  host Grundy County at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday, while Watertown will head out to face them  at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.
