Baseball Recap: Nokomis Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Nokomis entered their tilt with Bunker Hill on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Minutemen an 11-0 shutout. The Redskins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.

Nokomis' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ian Keller, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave Keller a new career-high. Another was Blain Goodwin, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Nokomis' victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Bunker Hill, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Nokomis will welcome Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bunker Hill will be paying especially close attention to the Redskins' game: after the Redskins face off against the Hawks, they'll take on Bunker Hill again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
