Baseball Recap: Bremen Comes Up Short

Bremen lost against Argo back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Braves fell 7-3 to the Argonauts. The Braves just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Jack Banda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bremen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Cardinal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Bremen's record is now 11-15. As for Argo, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bremen will take on Blue Island Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Argo, they will face off against Crete-Monee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Argonauts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
