Basketball Game Preview: Holcomb Longhorns vs. Scott Beavers

The Holcomb Longhorns and the Scott Beavers will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Holcomb is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Colby, who was ranked first at the time (Holcomb was ranked 13th). Holcomb took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colby on Tuesday. The Longhorns' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Scott didn't have quite enough to beat Goodland on Tuesday and fell 43-41. The loss continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now lost nine in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Holcomb fell to 4-1. As for Scott, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Holcomb took their win against Scott in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 55-29. Will Holcomb repeat their success, or does Scott have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
