Basketball Game Preview: Wharton Wildcats vs. Sunlake Seahawks

Two dominant guards in Tysen Jefferson and Christopher Murray are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wharton Wildcats will take on the Sunlake Seahawks on Wednesday.

Wharton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Blake just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to the Yellow Jackets on the road by a 53-36 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sunlake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They strolled past Gulf with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 75-58.

Sunlake pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Wharton, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.
