Preview: Baraga Vikings vs. Wakefield Cardinals
Baraga is 6-1 against Wakefield since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Baraga Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wakefield Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. Baraga will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Baraga scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 73-11 win over Watersmeet. Baraga has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 23 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Wakefield came up short against L'Anse on Friday and fell 52-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wakefield in their matchups with L'Anse: they've now lost three in a row.
Baraga's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Wakefield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Baraga was able to grind out a solid victory over Wakefield in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 64-51. Will Baraga repeat their success, or does Wakefield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
