Baseball Recap: Jersey Shore Triumphs

Jersey Shore lost to Shamokin Area on April 4th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Indians by a score of 4-1.

Zach Myers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nolen Pauling, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Collin Berguson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Jersey Shore now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Shamokin Area, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jersey Shore is set to take on their familiar foe Shikellamy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Shamokin Area will face off against rival Williamsport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
