Basketball Recap: Tymon Simpkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palisades over Olympic

Palisades was the 52-43 winner over Olympic when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Palisades Pumas fell to the Olympic Trojans 59-55. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palisades' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tymon Simpkins, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aurek Fenn, who posted nine points.

JD Terrell was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds for Olympic. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Angelo Hall, who put up seven points.

Palisades' loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Olympic, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palisades will host Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Palisades' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Olympic, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Myers Park at 7:30 p.m. Olympic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.
