Softball Recap: Scranton Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Scranton was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Magazine on Tuesday. The Rockets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Rattlers. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brecken Mainer (2028) was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Addie Layes (2026) was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Croft (2028), who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Scranton's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Magazine, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
