Baseball Recap: Oak Lawn Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Oak Lawn entered their tilt with Lincoln Park on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Lions.

Zack Ullrich was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Ullrich wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was John Olejniczak, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oak Lawn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oak Lawn pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Lawn will challenge Evergreen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln Park, they will face off against Curie at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
