Baseball Recap: Williamson Gets the Win

While Williamson's victory against Red Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rams 4-3. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

David DeFisher made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Williamson is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. DeFisher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

DeFisher wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Walter, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Cooper Brandt also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Williamson picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Red Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Williamson beat the Rams by a score of 20-7 on Friday.
