Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Hart

Hart hadn't done well against Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hart Hawks walked away with a 74-67 win over the Canyon Cowboys. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 580th, while the Cowboys are ranked 162nd).

When it comes to explaining why Canyon lost, don't look at Eric Kubel. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points. Isaac Yuhico was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Hart's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-17. As for Canyon, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 19-9.
