Basketball Game Preview: Tarkio Indians vs. Albany Warriors

The Tarkio Indians will square off against the Albany Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Tarkio's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Albany has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Tarkio blew past DeKalb, posting a 69-21 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Albany lost 64-39 to Gallatin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 152nd).

Tarkio is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Albany, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Tarkio beat Albany 55-42 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Tarkio repeat their success, or does Albany have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
