Soccer Game Preview: Nash Central vs. Northern Nash

Nash Central hasn't had much luck against Northern Nash recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Nash Central Bulldogs will challenge the Northern Nash Knights at 6:00 p.m. Nash Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Northern Nash better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Nash Central really gets things going. Nash Central put the hurt on Rocky Mount with a sharp 6-1 victory on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kaylee Faile and Allie O'Leary scored all six of Nash Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Northern Nash fell victim to Roanoke Rapids and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 22nd).

Nash Central pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those three matchups. As for Northern Nash, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
