            Softball Recap: Puckett Wolves vs. Mize Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Puckett was handed a ten-run  defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Mize Bulldogs  10-9. The  victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.
 Lila Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Murphy was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Meredith Shivers was  incredible,  going 3-for-5 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Aubrey Pardue, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-5.
 Puckett  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.

Puckett pushed their record up to 16-7-1 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mize, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
 Puckett has already played their next match,  a  12-1  win against Richland on the 14th. As for Mize, they will face off against Scott Central at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
