Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Crown Point

Crown Point strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Wells Wells CSD get on the board and left with a 29-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Kaitlin Ross made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Ross was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.

In other batting news, Leah Pockett was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hurlburt, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Crown Point pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games. As for Wells, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Crown Point is set to face off against their familiar foe Johnsburg Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wells will square off against rival Boquet Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
