Football Recap: Belle Plaine Dragons vs. Lyons Lions
Belle Plaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Lyons Lions, falling 42-13. One positive for the Dragons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Belle Plaine lost, don't look at Talan Hefley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Lyons found their leader in freshman Xander Young, who rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Those 200 rushing yards gave Young a new career-high. Ethan Luck was in the mix as well, providing Lyons with two touchdowns.
Belle Plaine's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lyons, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
