Batesville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Shelbyville Golden Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-14.

Reesa Zimmerman paced Batesville's offense, picking up 12 kills. Zimmerman got some help from Anya Richey and her three assists. Maddie Haskamp controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Batesville has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Madison on the 19th. As for Shelbyville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Southwestern on the 19th.
