Basketball Recap: Creekside's Win Ends 15-Game Losing Streak on the Road

On Friday, the stars were shining brightly for the Creekside Seminoles in a 64-48 win over the Harris County Tigers.

Creekside found their leader in sophomore Daylen Jones, who went 9 for 22 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Jones' afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Henderson, who posted nine points and five steals.

Creekside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Creekside's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11. As for Harris County, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Creekside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-60 defeat against Kendrick on the 21st. As for Harris County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Starr's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
