Softball Recap: Santiam Beats East Linn Christian Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Santiam had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the East Linn Christian Academy Eagles as they made off with a 21-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 on Friday.

Boston Flores made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Santiam let Brooke Massey and Maddie Allen run wild. Massey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Allen scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Allen a new career-high. Lindsey Briley was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Santiam always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .630 or higher in three consecutive games.

Santiam pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.8 runs over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Santiam will venture away from home to square off against Gervais at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they will face off against Eddyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
