Soccer Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

James Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Courtland Cougars, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, James Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Courtland are ranked 76th).

James Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Courtland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season.

James Monroe will square off against Spotsylvania at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Courtland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
